BCA Scouting Committee Announces Contest for New Obon Patch
The patch, created in 1997, can be earned by all BCA Scouts, Girl Scouts and Camp Fire youth who learn about Obon and participate in Bon Odori. Approximately 10,000 patches have been earned since its inception.
The contest winner’s design will be used as the new Bon Odori patch. The winner will also receive a cash prize and free patches for five members of the winner’s troop who have completed the requirements.
Deadline for submission is July 31. Rules, QR code and the URL are on the accompanying flyer.
The BCA Scouting Committee is tasked with administering and supervising aspects of Scouting and Camp Fire programs for all Buddhist denominations and sects within the United States. Some of the activities include overseeing the Karuna, Sangha, Metta, and Padma programs, as well as participating in
national Scout meetings and jamborees.
